of Focus Entertainment

Focus Entertainment(The parent company of FocusMixtapes.com), currently stands among the most prominent mixtape providers on the east coast. Focus Entertainment was founded in 2006 as an entertainment promotional vehicle run by marketing consultant Matthew Dunleavy, recording artist “Jers”, trance & hip-hop producer Nicholas “Mazik” Krowchena, and Dean Rosenwald, University of Pittsburgh School of Business.

The Beginning…
Like so many other music-related ventures, the team began in the founders’ basements and bedrooms with very little resources, including low end audio recording equipment, a borrowed laptop, and an outdated video camera. These tools were used for the creation of the first promotional release, known as “Get Focused”, a full-length documentary style DVD covering the hardships, personal grudges, and creative interests of the underground talent in Philadelphia.  The documentary was an instant success, moving thousands of units through record stores in specialty shops within weeks of its release date. Today, the release continues to hold a reputation for the professionalism it extended to the underground hip-hop circuit and aspiring artists in the Philadelphia area.

Today...
Focus Entertainment operates as a multifaceted publishing, distribution, and marketing company reaching millions of end users each year due to the rapid, viral spread of our mixtape content throughout the world.

The Platform...
In spring of 2007, Focus Entertainment Chief Executive Matthew Dunleavy created a distribution unit (FocusMixtapes.com) in order to expose his small roster of diverse, talented artists to the ears of music fans around the globe, and with considerable success thus far.
